The Columbus Branch supports:

The AAUW Mission:
To promote equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change.

The AAUW Educational Foundation:
The mission of the AAUW Educational Foundation is to provide funds to advance education, research, and self-development for women and to foster equity and positive societal change.

The Columbus Branch is proud to support the AAUW Educational Foundation, raising funds each year for the endowment. Since the first fellowship was awarded in 1888, the AAUW Education Foundation has been supporting aspiring scholars around the globe, teachers and activists in local communities, women at critical stages of their careers, and those pursuing professions where women are underrepresented.

Graduate students at The Ohio State University have been recipients of these fellowships and grants. Wendy Watson was one of five Foundation recipients working for degrees in Ohio last year. She was awarded a $20,000 American Fellowship by the Foundation to work on her doctorate in political science at OSU. The funds came from two Ohio-based endowments: The Columbus Branch Fellowship and the Jayne Payne M.D. Fellowship.

The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund:
Since its inception in 1981, the AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund has provided funding and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination. The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund is the nation's largest legal fund focused solely on sex discrimination in higher education.
